HR Policy Templates

These are structural starting points, not finished legal documents. Employment law varies by state and changes over time, so have any policy — especially POSH — reviewed by legal counsel before you publish it to your team.

Leave Policy

Defines what leave types exist, how they accrue, and how employees request them.

  • Leave types: casual, sick, earned/privilege, and any others you offer
  • Accrual method and whether unused leave carries forward or lapses
  • Notice period required for planned leave
  • Approval workflow and who covers for the employee

Work-From-Home Policy

Sets expectations for remote or hybrid work so it's consistent across teams.

  • Eligible roles and how many days per week/month apply
  • Expected working hours and availability windows
  • Equipment and expense reimbursement, if any
  • Data security expectations for working outside the office

Code of Conduct

The baseline expectations for professional behavior at the company.

  • Expected standards of conduct and communication
  • Conflict of interest and confidentiality expectations
  • Use of company property and systems
  • How violations are reported and handled

POSH Policy (Prevention of Sexual Harassment)

Required for companies with 10 or more employees under India's POSH Act, 2013. This is the one category on this page where the legal structure — not just the wording — is mandated, so treat this section as a checklist for your counsel rather than a template to publish as-is.

  • Constitution of an Internal Committee (IC) as prescribed
  • A defined complaint and inquiry process with timelines
  • Confidentiality obligations during the process
  • Annual disclosure requirements
